Got my first car from them on Tuesday. First talking to the father and than his son Gary (pretty sure his name was)  and excellent customer service. There were a few small problems with the car and brought it down to them  today and all sorted within an hour with no hassle whatsoever . Would definitely recommend.

I recently had a very unpleasant experience with Great Island Motors. I arranged a phone appointment to view a used car and was instructed to call 10 minutes before arriving. However, when we got there, an employee told us to wait for the salesperson. We ended up waiting outside in the pouring rain for over an hour. During this time, a couple of staff members approached us, asked what we were waiting for, but then left without providing any help. After an hour of waiting and feeling completely ignored, we had enough and decided to go home. I cannot recommend Great Island Motors due to their poor customer service and disregard for clients' time.

Unfortunately I had poor experience with great island motors

Bought a car couple of months back, I bought the car “as is” 2/3 days after the purchase I notice the clutch was slipping. I called and he told me he would supply a new clutch kit but I would have to get it installed myself. I couldn’t get a mechanic to install the clutch for about 3/4 weeks and when I did the clutch kit provided wasn’t exactly the one for the car and I had to purchase additional parts. The whole job in the end costed €470.

Recently I brought the car for NCT and it has subsequently failed on serious corrosion on suspension mounts and corrosion on door sils and was left with a danger driving sticker from the NCT and had to have the car recovered from there.

Overall an horrendous experience, I’m out of pocket a few Bob and I need to put another few hundred into the car so I can carry on using it. I could have handle things different but I gave the benefit of the doubt and it’s come back to bite

I’d avoid this place if your looking for a car, it’s run poorly and dishonestly in my opinion

Worst experience I ever encountered from a car dealer. I bought a car from them by end of December 2022. I like the car, it was of good condition and they promised 3 months of warranty. I believe they gives 3 months of warranty for all their customers buying car from them. After two months of purchase I encountered an issue that one of my car doors was not locking/unlocking with the key remote. I went to them directly to address the issue and even without inspecting much they said that they have to replace the lock which will take few weeks to get delivered after placing the order. They promised that they will place the order and give me a call back once it delivered to resolve the issue. They wrote down the details in a diary to convince me that they have noted the issue. After that I waited for few weeks to hear back from them, but they haven’t call back. When I followed up with Ray (one of the responsible persons in Great Island motors and the person who noted down the details in the diary) he said that it will take another week or two. This response repeated whenever I call them, after few weeks I went to a local garage and they took only half an hour to get the issue fix. They inspected and said that it was a minor wiring problem. I just wanted to bring this issue to everyone’s attention whoever is going to make a purchase from them. Mine was a minor issue but the point is that never trust their words, they give warranty and buttering words at the time of purchase but then they ditches their customers.
